I had a 6al btm on my Vortech supercharged "90" mustang. I went through sh#t loads of them! All of a sudden the car would just lose power and die every now and then. Get a new one...same thing. I was strategic enough to be able to by-pass it on my coil when it failed, which is a lot easier than doing it on a Honda or Acura. Then I had a Crane Fireball ignition system, simliar to the MSD, on my Vortech supercharged "97" Ram Air TransAm. I went through 3 of them. The first one failed. The second one literally burned up when I kept cranking it over when it died. Luckily I was at a gas station and somebody had a wrench to lend me so I could disconnect my battery. There was no fusible link on this piece of sh#t and I almost burnt my plastic fender off and almost the whole car (pretty scary). Crane sent me a third one, which appeared to be working o.k. and then I sold my car. Crane just came out with this ignition sytem and they were having all kinds of design and quality control problems. I'm happy with my plain old JR btc unit, which works FABULOUS! Thanks Jim!
